New perennial plants at the Appeltern Show Gardens
 
The New Plants Trail in the Appeltern Show Gardens (De Tuinen van Appeltern) Holland, was in full flower on the occasion of the the biennial congress of the International Hardy Plant Union (ISU) that took place 17-21 August 2012. Strategically placed for the Planatrium exhibition that took place on the 22nd August. The new perennials will be judged by an expert jury. 199 new perennials have been planted from 25 different companies. Strongly represented are Echinacea, Hosta, Hemerocallis, Heuchera and Astilbe.

The Appeltern Show garden is set in a 15 ha park that contains more than 200 model gardens next to the Dutch National perennial Plant Garden, with the largest collection of plants in Holland. E-mail: info@appeltern.nl www.appeltern.nl
