Duemmen Usa Multi-Species Cutting Liner Patent Approved

Dümmen USA’s application for a utility patent on its RED FOX Confetti Garden multi-species cutting liners will soon be granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). A utility patent protects new inventions, permitting the patent owner to exclude others from making, selling or using the invention for up to 20 years from the date of application, in this case July 14, 2008, without express consent.

What this means for the greenhouse industry is that multi-species cutting liners must either be Dümmen USA product or be licensed by Dümmen USA for use by other companies. Dümmen USA will quickly open negotiations with other suppliers of multi-species cutting liners to authorize any of their products covered by the utility patent. A key goal for Dümmen USA in these negotiations is ensuring that existing and confirmed orders of multi-species cutting liners for Spring 2011 can be supplied without extra costs for growers. Further, Dümmen USA requests that any suppliers of multi-species cutting liners contact its Managing Director, Perry Wismans, to inquire about obtaining a license. Mr. Wismans can be contacted at his email address: p.wismans@redfox.de .

The innovative RED FOX Confetti Garden liners have made it easy and efficient for growers to provide customers with combination plants with a high degree of visual appeal, retail impact and garden performance. The assortment now includes two dozen mixes.

Dümmen USA is located in Hilliard, Ohio. The patent application process was handled by The Webb Law Firm in Pittsburgh, PA.
