| FLOWERS-IPM or EXPO FLORA or FLOWERS EXPO: fighting for the exhibition market in Russia | |
| The growing Russian floriculture market will see three competing trade exhibitions staged in Moscow over a similar period in 2011. Flowers-IPM, 31st August to 3rd September is a joint event staged by Messe Essen and MVCVVC in the All Russian Exhibition Centre (AREC). Both partners have signed a joint venture agreement that extends the IPM involvement to bringing together all segments of the floriculture market from plants to flowers and floristry to supporting technology. Previously the exhibition was orientated primarily at technology. Both partners aim to create further stimulus for the growth market in Russia. A participation of around 700 exhibitors from 28 countries is anticipated and the organizers state the exhibition will be unique in Eastern Europe in covering all segments of the market. It will take place for the first time in the new modern exhibition hall 75 of the AREC. Further information: Xiang Zhi. Tel 0049 2017244727, E-mail: xiang.zhi@messe-essen.de www.messe-essen.de Expo Flora Russia, organized by HPP Exhibitions, will take place from the 30th August to 1st of September, in downtown Moscow at the Gostiny Dvor Exhibition Hall, a fully restored building with a glass roof, considered an ideal environment for a flower and plant exhibition. The exhibition will focus on breeders, growers, floral suppliers and the international trade in flowers and plants in general. The organizers are directing their efforts to obtain more exhibitors from within Russia, especially importers and growers. This third runner looks very promising with 16.000m2 exhibition space and backing from a number of important institutional bodies including the Dutch Flower Council, Asocolflores and a number of important Russian organizations in the field of landscaping, apart from flowers, plants and some technology. A conference program is being organized. A participation has already been decided from Italian compnaies: Vanucci Piante, Zelari Piante, Torsanlorenzo and Organizzazione Orlandelli.
