Horti Fair in Amsterdam opens digital visitor registration

Aalsmeer, 8 July 2011

Horti Fair – the largest international horticultural trade fair for technology, innovation and inspiration – has opened its doors to visitor registration. Exhibitors can invite their business associates to register for the trade fair in Amsterdam (from 1 to 4 November inclusive) by various digital means such as from their website or by e-mail.

The Horti Fair is an annual event in Amsterdam. This edition of the international trade fair dedicated to technology, innovation and inspiration will feature 600 stands as well as dozens of seminars. This year, the Horti Fair will kick off with the International Horti Congress that has ‘Water’ as its theme. Exciting internationally acclaimed speakers will shed light on such global challenges as water quality and quantity. The congress will be held on 1 November in the Amsterdam RAI. Tickets cost € 295 excl. VAT.

In previous years, Horti Fair stand-holders sent their associates complimentary tickets that could then be mailed to their associates. As a result of this procedure, however, many horticultural businesses received tickets from more than one stand-holder while others received none.

By making digital invitations available, the organizers of the Horti Fair are responding to the current era in which everyone, including horticultural professionals, takes the internet for granted. From now on, exhibitors can invite their associates to register as a visitor from a website. Once registered, the visitor receives an e-mail confirmation containing the ticket.

Linked to the visitor registration is a survey into the visitor’s interests. By having those who register indicate the themes or events in which they are interested, exhibitors will have a better idea of who their visitors will be and which side events will attract the greatest attention. At the same time, the event’s organizers will be able to measure which exhibitor is most successful in attracting visitors: this participant company will be the recipient of the Marketing Cup with the accompanying prize of free stand space in 2012 (equal to the size of their stand in 2011).

“Now that the Horti Fair has made the transition to digital visitor registration, we can make the fair respond even better to the preferences of both visitors and exhibitors,” says director Frans-Peter Dechering. “This makes the digital complimentary ticket possible. It also makes inviting business associates a lot easier for exhibitors: a simple solution is for them to place a button at the bottom of their e-mails with a link to the registration website.”
