Horti Fair arranges international 'dates'

The Horti Fair and the Enterprise Europe Network have formed an alliance to bring international horticultural companies and organizations into contact with each other. The alliance goes by the name of 'International Matchmaking'.

The Horti Fair, the biggest international horticultural trade fair for technology, innovation and inspiration, is taking place in Amsterdam from 1 to 4 November inclusive in 2011. The fair's organizers are collaborating this year with the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), a section of the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Enterprise Europe Network has a network in 48 different countries. Companies in these countries that visit the Horti Fair can register with Enterprise Europe Network and will then be asked about their interests and the goal of their visit to the fair. Horti Fair exhibitors can also register with Enterprise Europe Network for this project (via the website of the Horti Fair). Taking part in Matchmaking is free of charge for visitors and exhibitors.

Visitors and exhibitors will then be brought together, with staff from Enterprise Europe Network accompanying visitors to the exhibitor in question at a pre-arranged time. Both parties are assured of an interested discussion partner by this approach.

Horti Fair director Frans-Peter Dechering: "Horticulture is becoming increasingly international. But it is sometimes difficult to establish contacts between companies from different countries, even at trade fairs. With 'International Matchmaking' we want to ensure that visitors and exhibitors really engage with each other. It's a role that an international trade show like the Horti Fair must assume."
