At this year’s FlowerTrials® Selecta Klemm will be again presenting an assortment show at the premises of Georg Welzel in Kerken, Germany. Selecta Holland has, as last year, a joint presentation area with Scheoneveld in the FloraHolland pyramide. Next to the highlights of the current assortment several novelties will be shown.

Pelargonium cultivars Perillo

With the interspecific Pelargonium line Marcada Selecta introduced the ideal complement to Calliope® varieties last year. Marcada provides many advantages in production with its earliness and therefore fast cultivation as well as with the homogeneity within the line. The series consists of three varieties: Marcada Dark Red in bright red, Marcada Magenta in striking magenta red and Marcada Pink in a refreshing pink colour.

This year Selecta is going to show another sensation within the range of interspecific Pelargoniums: the Pelargonium line Perillo of brand new, interspecific crossings between zonal and peltatum consisting of seven varieties. All varieties are very early flowering – in average one week earlier than the previously earliest zonal varieties – and extremely rich flowering. Several blooms at first flush combined with an attractive round habit convince producers and consumers alike. Perillo varieties have a semi-mounding growth habit and can be produced in pots of 10.5 to 13 cm and in baskets. Seven varieties have been introduced: Perillo White, Perillo White Pink Eye, Perillo White Pink Splash, Perillo Lavender, Perillo Pink Bicolor, Perillo Scarlet, Perillo Red.

Mandevilla sanderi Dundee

A new super strong Mandevilla type is Dundee. This new variety in deep red colour is bred in Australia and Outback-tested and does not fade even at very high temperatures. Dundee is a fast growing and rich flowering variety and has small, brilliant foliage, big flowers and a very good branching. Dundee is further very heat and cold resistant – the plants grow even at low temperatures and are also very drought tolerant. Hence, Dundee is a real enrichment for every assortment.

                                

Begonia cultivars California Sunlight

A new Begonia with large flowers in a striking orange colour is California Sunlight, Selecta’s third Fleuroselect Gold Medal winner in a row. The semi-upright, bushy Begonia is easy to grow and well-suited for pots and containers flowering from late spring until the first frost with an outstanding summer performance. California Sunlight is drought and rain tolerant and thrives in full sun and shade.

Dahlia cultivars Dalaya

Enchanting eye-catcher with oriental charm: three new varieties have been added to the line of semi-vigorous, long-flowering and mildew tolerant Dahlias. Dalaya Suna in a refreshing yellow colour joins Dalaya Shiva and Dalaya Shari in the yellow colour range. Dalaya Krishna seems like an impressive sunrise with its red flowers and yellow centre. Dalaya Bali has rich in contrast flowers in white and pink colour.

All eight Dalaya varieties convince with beautiful flowers in extraordinary colours and a long flowering period from spring to autumn. The winner variety Dalaya Yogi has been awarded with the Fleuroselect Gold Medal 2013. All varieties are easy to cultivate and bring long-term joy to the consumers.

Petunia cultivars AlpeTunia® und Gentiana cultivars Luis Easy Blue

AlpeTunia® and Luis bring some alpine flair to every garden and balcony. AlpeTunia®, the line of genuine bavarian Petunia, is extremely long flowering and weatherproof. New is the variety AlpeTunia® Blueberry with early flowers and an expressive flower colour. The dark violet centre with strong veins and a light pink border shows a beautiful contrast. Complemented is the assortment of Alpine flowers by Luis Easy Blue, the blue Gentiana for use in house gardens. Luis Easy Blue stands for an easy cultivation and an early flowering even under low light conditions.
